OBWEGESER RETRACTOR • UPWARDS CURVED • 10x42MM • 24.0 CM • CE CLASS I • ISO 13485:2016

Tall Broad Hook for Advanced Exposure in Midfacial and Orbital Surgery

The OBWEGESER Retractor upwards curved, 10x42mm, 24.0 cm is a Class I medical device according to ISO 13485:2016. This special variant with a particularly tall (42 mm) and broad (10 mm) upward-curved tip is a highly developed instrument for oral, maxillofacial, facial plastic, and oculoplastic surgery. It enables deep and stable retraction of soft tissues for optimal visibility in demanding anatomical regions.

Product Highlights:

✔ Certified according to ISO 13485:2016
✔ CE marking Class I (Regulation (EU) 2017/745)
✔ OBWEGESER design with broad, very tall, and upwards curved tip
✔ Broad and very tall blade (10x42 mm) for deep and stable surface retraction
✔ High-grade stainless steel 1.4401/316L – corrosion-resistant and biocompatible
✔ Biocompatibility tested according to ISO 10993
✔ Atraumatically rounded edges for safe application in the sensitive facial region
✔ Optimal length of 24.0 cm for outstanding leverage and precision control
✔ Autoclavable and reusable

Advantages of the OBWEGESER Retractor (upwards curved, 10x42mm):

Depth Effectiveness with Upward Retraction: The tall tip (42 mm) allows reaching and safely retracting deep tissue layers upward, ideal for exposing the orbital region, maxillary sinus, or deep midface.
Optimal Exposure for Complex Procedures: Indispensable for treating orbital floor fractures, extensive tumor resections in the midface, or reconstructive procedures following trauma.
Stable Hold with Minimal Obstruction: The combination of width and height provides a large contact area for stable retraction, while the slender shaft hardly obstructs the visual field.
Ideal for Orbital Access: Specially suited for gently retracting orbital contents or periocular soft tissues during orbital surgery.
Versatile in Reconstructive Facial Surgery: Valuable tool for exposing the zygoma, frontal process of the maxilla, and nasal root.

Fields of Application:

• Orbital surgery (orbital floor reconstruction, decompression, tumor resections)
• Treatment of complex midfacial fractures (including naso-orbito-ethmoidal fractures)
• Reconstructive procedures following tumor resection in the nose, zygoma, and maxilla area
• Aesthetic and reconstructive rhinoplasty
• Access to the maxillary sinus for extensive procedures
• Exposure of the infraorbital nerve in the infraorbital canal

Important Application Notes:

FOR USE BY EXPERIENCED OMFS, FACIAL PLASTIC SURGERY, OR OCULOPLASTIC SURGERY SPECIALISTS ONLY.
High-precision instrument in critical anatomical proximity. Utmost caution is required to protect the optic nerve, extraocular muscles, infraorbital nerve, and lacrimal apparatus.
• Before each use, the perfect structural integrity and correct curvature of the tall tip must be verified. Any deformity is unacceptable.
• The instrument is for gentle soft tissue retraction. Absolutely contraindicated as a lever or for retracting bony fragments in the orbital area.
• During orbital procedures, pressure on the globe and optic nerve must be constantly monitored and minimized.
• Due to the height, particularly controlled, measured force application is required.
• Discard immediately at the slightest bending or damage to the tip – repair is not possible.
