Professional Extra-Wide Flex Retractor for Maximal, Broad, and Anatomically Contoured Retraction in Reconstructive, Visceral, and Trauma Major Surgery

The RETRACTOR 245 mm x 50 mm / 41.0 cm is a Class I medical device manufactured according to ISO 13485:2016. This extra-wide retractor with a 50 mm blade width and manual malleability represents the premium solution for challenging procedures requiring maximal, tissue-sparing exposure of large and deep surgical fields. Its unique combination of extreme width, length, and pliability makes it the instrument of choice for demanding reconstructions and revisions.

Product Highlights:

✔ Manufactured in accordance with ISO 13485:2016
✔ CE Marked – Class I (Regulation (EU) 2017/745 – MDR)
Extra-wide, manually malleable blade (245 mm x 50 mm) – Maximum contact area in this flexibility class
✔ Strategic length of 41.0 cm for optimal leverage and access to deep body regions
✔ High-quality, high-tensile spring steel – Ensures optimal balance between exceptional flexibility and necessary stability
✔ Atraumatic, fully polished and rounded blade edges across the entire width for maximum tissue protection
✔ Ergonomic, angled double-T handle for powerful two-handed guidance and precise contouring
✔ Matte (satin) premium finish for reflection-free work
✔ Special heat treatment ensures lasting bending properties and shape memory over numerous sterilization cycles
✔ Sterilizable and reusable

Benefits of the 50 mm Extra-Wide Flex Retractor:

Ultimate Pressure Distribution & Trauma Protection: The 50 mm width creates an extremely large contact zone, reducing tissue pressure to an absolute minimum and effectively preventing ischemia and crushing.
Adaptation to Macro-Anatomical Contours: Ideal instrument for precisely conforming to large curvatures such as the entire pelvic ring, thoracic aperture, or extensive defect margins.
Maximum Field Exposure: Enables retraction and coverage of very large wound areas with a single instrument, reducing assistant need and significantly improving overview.
Indispensable for Complex Reconstructions: Particularly valuable in the dissection and holding of large flaps (e.g., anterolateral thigh flap, latissimus dorsi flap), reconstructive tumor surgery, and major soft tissue revisions.
Improved Efficiency: Can replace multiple standard retractors in many cases, simplifies setup, and speeds up procedure flow.

• Chest Wall Reconstructions
• Any procedure requiring maximal, tissue-sparing, and custom-tailored retraction

Important Safety and Handling Information (Critical!):

FOR USE BY HIGHLY EXPERIENCED SURGEONS IN SPECIALIZED PROCEDURES ONLY.
Bending Technique: Shape the blade using both hands only and with even, slow movements. Absolutely prohibit kinking or bending over sharp edges. The extreme width requires particularly careful handling to avoid material fatigue.
Regular Material Inspection: A careful inspection for micro-cracks, permanent bends, or weak points at the blade-handle junction is MANDATORY before EACH use.
Reprocessing Care: Soak the instrument immediately after use. During cleaning, handle it lying flat in a large mesh tray, protected from bending by other instruments. Ideally, straighten bends before sterilization.
Professional Storage: Always store completely flat and straight on special trays or in designated containers. Do not store with sharp bends.
Sterilization Note: Due to its dimensions, a sufficiently large sterilization container is required, ensuring flat, unkinked storage.
