Extended Double Hook for Efficient, Simultaneous Retraction in Large-Scale Excisions and Deep Wounds in Dermatology, Plastic and General Surgery

The PARKER RETRACTOR Type FIG-2 (18.0 cm) is a Class I medical device manufactured according to ISO 13485:2016. This significantly extended variant of the double hook combines the proven, symmetrical two-point retraction with greater reach. It is designed for efficient, atraumatic retraction of both wound edges during extensive or deep-lying surgical approaches.

Product Highlights:

✔ Manufactured in accordance with ISO 13485:2016
✔ CE Marked – Class I (Regulation (EU) 2017/745 – MDR)
Extended Parker double-hook shape (FIG-2): Significantly longer shaft (18.0 cm) with two opposing, serrated hooks
✔ Retention of the finely notched (serrated), blunt tips for non-slip and tissue-sparing grip
✔ High-quality, stable surgical stainless steel 1.4301 – for improved leverage and durability
✔ Both hooks with atraumatic design and rounded, serrated tips
✔ Extended, balanced shaft for good control and reach in depth
✔ Central, ergonomic finger ring for balanced one-handed guidance
✔ Matte finish for glare-free work
✔ Sterilizable and reusable

Benefits of the Extended Parker Double Hook FIG-2:

Efficient Retraction for Large Wounds: Ideal for suturing long incisions or large excision defects (e.g., after melanoma excision, mastectomy, abdominoplasty) where symmetrical, bilateral retraction is required.
Improved Accessibility in Depth: The length allows effective and symmetrical retraction of wound edges even in deeper layers or in obese patients without the surgeon's hand obstructing the view.
Significantly Reduced Suturing Time: By simultaneously retracting both wound edges with one hand, the surgeon can suture faster and more efficiently, especially for long, straight wounds.
Optimal Tension Distribution: Ensures even, symmetrical tension along both wound edges, contributing to better wound healing and cosmetic results.
Ergonomic Advantage in Extensive Procedures: Reduces fatigue as the surgeon can control both wound edges with one hand and keep the other hand free for suturing.

Important Safety and Handling Information (Important!):

FOR USE BY EXPERIENCED SURGICAL OR DERMATOLOGICAL PROFESSIONALS ONLY.
Risk of Excessive Tension: The extended levers can unintentionally exert high tension on the tissue. Force must always be applied in a dosed and controlled manner to avoid tissue tears or ischemia at the wound edges.
Even Force Application Mandatory: When opening the instrument, absolutely even and symmetrical force must be applied to both hooks to prevent one-sided pulling or tilting.
Conscious Control of Tip Position: Due to the length, the tips may be located outside the direct field of view. Their position must always be consciously controlled to avoid snagging in deeper structures.
Thorough Cleaning: Clean the two opposing hooks and the angle between them particularly thoroughly after use.
Stability Check: Before each use, check the stability of the extended construction, especially the central connection.
