• FOR USE BY HIGHLY EXPERIENCED CARDIAC AND THORACIC SURGEONS IN SPECIALIZED MAXIMAL CARE CENTERS ONLY. Requires specific training in handling ultra-wide retractors.
• Coordinated Team Use Mandatory: The use of this instrument requires two experienced users – one for placement and guidance, one for controlled force support.
• Gradual, Tactile Spreading: Spreading must be performed extremely slowly, with constant tactile feedback and visual control. Stop at any resistance and check positioning. No jerky movements.
• Preoperative Planning Required: Application should be planned based on preoperative imaging (CT thorax) to account for the patient's individual anatomy (sternum shape, rib angles).
• Rigorous Preoperative Instrument Inspection: Before each use, a meticulous inspection for material fatigue, micro-cracks, or deformations, especially at the highly stressed transitions and the safety lip, must be conducted.
• Specialized Reprocessing Protocols: Due to the size, weight, and sensitive surface, strict manual cleaning and disinfection is required. Automated reprocessing is not recommended to avoid collision damage.
• Dedicated Sterilization and Storage: Requires a dedicated, large-volume, and padded sterilization container as well as protected, flat storage to prevent deformation.
