HEANEY RETRACTOR • FIG-2 • 73MM X 28MM • 27.0CM • CE-CLASS I • ISO 13485:2016

Wide Bladder and Pelvic Spatula for Comprehensive Exposure in Advanced Gynecological and Oncological Pelvic Surgery

The HEANEY RETRACTOR Type FIG-2 (73 mm x 28 mm / 27.0 cm) is a Class I medical device manufactured according to ISO 13485:2016. This wider variant of the classic Heaney retractor is designed for the broad and stable retraction of the urinary bladder and perivesical tissue. With its increased blade surface area, it provides optimal visibility and protection during demanding procedures such as radical hysterectomy or pelvic lymphadenectomy.

Product Highlights:

✔ Manufactured in accordance with ISO 13485:2016
✔ CE Marked – Class I (Regulation (EU) 2017/745 – MDR)
Extended Heaney shape (Fig-2): Wider and higher blade (73 mm x 28 mm) for larger contact area
✔ Classic 90° angulation for access to the true pelvis and optimal bladder protection
✔ Overall length of 27.0 cm for precise work in the pelvic depth
✔ High-quality Surgical Stainless Steel 1.4301 – rust-proof, corrosion-resistant and durable
✔ Atraumatic, fully rounded blade edges and blunt tip
✔ Ergonomic finger ring for secure guidance and good force transmission
✔ Matte finish to reduce light glare
✔ Sterilizable and reusable

Benefits of the Heaney Retractor FIG-2:

Superior Bladder Retraction and Protection: The wide blade surface (73 mm) allows for secure and gentle retraction of a larger section of the urinary bladder, effectively protecting it from instrumental injury during extensive dissections.
Optimal Exposure of the Surgical Field: Creates a wide and deep visual field for dissecting the parametrial tissue, uterine arteries, and pelvic plexus.
Reduced Risk of Ureteral Injury: The design helps to safely keep the ureters away from the dissection line during preparation in the parametrial tunnel.
Ideal for Oncological Procedures: Specially suited for radical hysterectomies (Wertheim-Meigs operation), pelvic exenterations, and other extensive oncological pelvic procedures where maximum exposure is required.
Stable Tissue Control: The larger area distributes pressure more evenly and allows for more stable retraction even in obese patients or in the presence of adhesions.

Important Safety and Handling Information:

FOR USE BY EXPERIENCED GYNECOLOGICAL ONCOLOGISTS OR UROLOGICAL SURGEONS ONLY.
Precise Anatomical Placement: Due to its width, conscious placement is required to avoid unintentionally clamping the ureter or contacting the bladder lumen.
Controlled Force Application: The broad surface requires even force distribution. One-sided pressure can lead to slipping.
Caution with Tumor Infiltration: If the bladder wall is infiltrated by tumor, retraction may be more difficult and risky. In such cases, particular caution is advised.
Visual Inspection: Before each use, inspect for deformations of the wide blade.
Thorough Cleaning: Intensive cleaning is required after oncological or inflammatory procedures.
