Customer Information on Instrument Sterilization and VUBU Sterilization Containers:

A sterilizer is a device for killing pathogens such as bacteria (sterilization), usually by heating under pressure using steam. These devices are referred to as steam sterilizers or autoclaves. Such devices are primarily used in medicine to sterilize or disinfect surgical instruments and other equipment. They are also used in biotechnology for sterilizing liquid culture media or glassware. For steam sterilization with an autoclave, the standard procedure of the German Pharmacopoeia specifies a temperature of at least 121 °C at 1 bar overpressure (= 2 bar absolute) for 20 minutes. Programs with 134 °C at 3 bar are also common, especially for glassware without liquids and instruments.[1] For dry heat sterilization, higher temperatures of over 180 °C to 250 °C and a minimum sterilization time of 30 minutes are necessary. Typically, however, the heat is maintained for several hours. These devices are used to sterilize dissection kits and sometimes smaller glassware without plastic components. Dry heat sterilizers are easier to operate (no pressure build-up and no water evaporation), resulting in lower operating costs. The difference in outcome between sterilization and disinfection is achieved through different exposure times and temperatures of the sterilization medium (pressurized steam) on the items being sterilized. To ensure the achieved result (germ-free state), items for sterilization are wrapped in steam-permeable packaging. To ensure the operational safety of the devices and the success of the sterilization, regular inspections (TÜV) and, depending on the device, ongoing functional tests, for example using spore strips, earth spore samples, or a Bowie-Dick test, are mandatory. Heat-labile items are sterilized using low-temperature sterilization processes. This includes, for example, the LTSF process (Low-Temperature Steam with Formaldehyde), which operates at a sterilization temperature of 50–78 °C with a sterilization time of 30–120 minutes.

1/1 Sterilization Container with dimensions: 580mm Length x 280mm Width - 100mm to 260mm Height

We offer our 1/1 Container Models in the universally popular Standard Version, as well as a particularly comprehensive Safety Model. Furthermore, you can obtain individually tailored Accessories for both model ranges from us.

For example, the new VUBU® Container Models with filters are equipped with extra-long handles that guarantee simple and safe handling. The silicone rubber coating protects against burns and prevents slipping. These containers feature a special Spring Locking System that allows any developing Overpressure to escape and closes absolutely securely. The filter holder is inserted with simple pressure on the center of the filter. Pressure on the tab releases the filter holder. The Label Holder of the container models with a filter offers the possibility of transparent and clear management of the Sterile Goods Cycle. Alternatively to our sterilization containers with filters, our new containers with a valve system provide safe Sterilization, Storage, and Transport of Surgical Instruments. Due to the resulting pressure change, the valve opens via the existing spring mechanism, allowing steam to flow into or escape from the container. During pressure equalization, the valve plates remain firmly pressed together and the mechanism remains closed.

3/4 Sterilization Container with dimensions: 465mm Length x 280mm Width - 100mm to 150mm Height

We offer our 3/4 Container Models in the universally popular Standard Version, as well as a particularly comprehensive Safety Model. Furthermore, you can obtain individually tailored Accessories for both model ranges from us.
