Benefits of the Mathieu Retractor FIG-1:

Ideal Initial Bladder Retraction: The wide, flat curvature allows for secure and gentle displacement of the urinary bladder from the uterus and adnexa to create access to the operative site.
Protection of Hollow Organs: The large-area, blunt design distributes pressure evenly and minimizes the risk of iatrogenic injury to the bladder or bowel wall.
Optimal Exposure of the Anterior Uterine Wall: After retraction of the bladder, it provides a clear view of the corpus uteri, uterine arteries, and anterior parametria.
Versatile Application: Also excellent for retracting the peritoneum or bowel loops in the true pelvis.
First Instrument in the Mathieu Set: Used for the superficial retraction layer before the deeper FIG-2 is employed.
