The hollow guide probe according to BRUNNER-FERROZELL is mostly used in combination with a ligation needle. To do this, the probe is pushed under the tissue. The hollow channel serves as a guide for the ligation needle and the hollow guide probe protects underlying structures such as blood vessels or nerves from injury.
